PERRON RIGOT hot Wax is extremely popular with celebrities. Honey-colored translucent wax, very supple texture. Recommended for those more sensitive areas because of its exceptional comfort and fluidity. Especially suitable for short, tough hairs.
I use PERRON RIGOT Wax for the more delicate areas like the bikini area, face and underarms. The wax literally shrink wraps around the hair and does not stick to the skin. When the wax is removed it pulls from the very root of the hair follicle, removing the dermal-papilla. This will prevent hair breakage, ingrown hairs, bruises, redness and the painful sting associated with other types of wax.
What you need to tell me…
When you book your waxing appointment, bear in mind that it is always helpful to inform me if you are taking medication, including antibiotics. Please also let me know if you use Retin-A, glycolic acid, Acutane, Benzoyl Peroxide, tanning products, or acne creams as they can affect how your skin responds during waxing.
What is the difference between hot wax and strip wax?
With PERRON RIGOT hot wax, the wax is spread fairly thick onto the skin after it has been cleansed and allowed to dry slightly before it is ‘quickly’ but gently pulled off. As the hair is pulled directly from the roots, it is far less painful than the more traditional strip wax. It therefore results in less ingrown hairs and minimum breakage which leads to softer smoother skin for longer.
I highly recommend PERRON RIGOT hot wax for sensitive skin and delicate areas like the face, underarms and bikini line.
I then recommend only using the PhD strip wax for less sensitive skin such as legs and arms. With strip wax, a thin layer of wax is spread on the skin and removed using a paper strip. I use PhD Strip wax which is BY FAR THE BEST MOST HYGIENIC ‘STRIP’ WAX on the market. This is because every client has their own pre-sealed applicator head which screws straight on top of the wax tube. After the treatment the applicator head is disposed of in the bin and the area cleansed to ensure that no residual wax has been left.
Brazilian and Hollywood Waxing Facts
For a Brazilian and Hollywood I only use hot wax as it is by far the best choice (I WOULD NOT USE OR RECOMMEND ANYTHING BUT). It is less painful and much safer to use for such a delicate area.
A Brazilian wax is where all the hair is removed, from the butt crack to the outer/inner labia except a strip of hair which can be as thick or as narrow as you wish left on the pubic mound. (Including buttocks if needed)
A Hollywood wax is everything off!! (including buttocks if needed)
Serious stuff
If you are having (what we call) extreme waxing ie Brazilian etc, you will need to get naked from the waist down to get that PERFECT wax. So as daunting as it may seem all modesty must be left at the door :-). I am a waxer and all i care about is getting rid of every hair and in the most comfortable and pain free way possible. Once you have had a wax with me you honestly wont worry the next time! I am very easy going and besides, you really have nothing that i haven’t seen before.
How often will i need to be waxed?
If you’re serious about maintaining that clean and sexy feeling, I recommend that you come in every 4 to 5 weeks. You may then find that the you will be able to leave longer gaps between your appointments.
How long will the results last?
In most cases, you will see minimal regrowth during the first 3 weeks, with a noticeable increase after that. Continued waxing encourages slower, sparser regrowth. I don’t advise letting all our hair grow out before you next waxing appointment. As this process could take up to three months, the benefit of regular waxing is that the follicle will eventually give up growing a replacement hair. Some women who have been waxing for years experience only 20% hair re-growth! YAY!
Tips for the best Brazilian/Hollywood Waxing Results
First time getting a Brazilian? The first thing to do is to prepare. Ingrown hairs can be common with strip waxing however I only use the finest hot wax for Brazilians and Hollywood’s so there is generally less. But be pre-emptive. That means exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate (2-3 times a week)! I find that the exfoliating with a dry body brush works wonders for that area. This will get rid of any dead skin cells creating a softer smoother skin which leads to better results with the wax. Then remember not to moisturize before waxing. Fact is that the longer the hair is, the more it will hurt. If you’ve never been waxed before or you haven’t been waxed for months, then just trim what you can (with scissors) to roughly half an inch (12mm). You don’t have to be exact and please do not stress about it , it’s just better for you. If you’ve been removing the hair yourself, you should wait a few weeks before you get waxed as you’ll get a much better result.. I will always trim the hair if i think it’s too long so don’t panic.. FACT: Shaven hair is much stronger and tougher to remove (and more painful), so step away from the razor.
Strip Waxing
For less sensitive areas like the legs and arms i use PhD strip wax which also contains beeswax and essential oils. With strip wax, the wax is spread thinly all over the area then a paper strip is applied and pulled off, leaving smooth sexy skin!
The Pitfalls of Waxing
A bad waxing technique can cause unnecessary pain, hair breakage or even bruising however if you find a good therapist look after her! An experienced waxer will minimize the pain you experience and create a longer lasting result. Also don’t just settle for bargain prices. Expertise is what you need to look for! Lack of cleanliness is especially important to watch out for too!
What causes in-grown hairs?
Skin suffering from lack of moisture
Coarse hair
Embedded oil in the hair follicles
Build up of dead skin cells in the pores and on the surface of the skin can cause ingrown hairs – some are more prone to this than others due to genetics
Coarse curly hair growing in a curved hair follicle
Waxing after care
You may experience slight pinkness after a waxing treatment but this is normal. However, if this lasts for more than 48 hours please feel free to contact me for further advice. After your wax, keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat for 24 hours, therefore avoiding:
-hot baths or showers (warm water only)
-tanning (natural sunbathing, sun beds or fake tans)
-saunas, hot tubs, Jacuzzis or steam room treatments and avoid swimming pools
-sports, gym work or other exercise which will increase perspiration
-Ensure your hands are washed and clean before touching the area
-Do not apply deodorants, lotions or other products to the area, other than those recommended by your therapist for 24 hours.
Use a dry brush after two days, then two or three times a week after, but don’t go mad as this actually causes ingrown hairs if you’re too rough. Keep your skin moisturised. Dry brushing is when you take one of those wooden and bristle brushes that you can buy for a few quid from Boots, Superdrug, Body Shop etc. As you’re about to step into the bath or shower and when your skin is dry and the brush is dry, you gently but firmly brush all over the area you get waxed. In fact it’s great to do your whole body. Then when you step out of the bath/shower and your skin is dripping wet, apply a small amount of baby oil all over the waxed area, then dry yourself with a towel. You won’t feel all greasy if you do it this way.
So away you go to get waxed to look and feel your best!
